Arizona Flagstone is an evenly layered sedimentary rock that is in flat slabs of stone, which can be split at the quarry or on the job site into many useful stone applications.
Flagstone is priced by the pound, we can deliver this flagstone in any quantity you need for installing a flagstone walkway or patio.This fine-grained sandstone can be used for flagging or paving walks, driveways, and patios. It can also be used as a wall stone or as stone veneer.
Our stone is delivered on pallets and we offer both select and patio grades. This stone is also is available in ledge material, saw cut material and sometimes as boulders.
Standup and Patio flagstone that is thinner than 2" is best installed on a concrete base with mortar and is typically are best install by an experienced mason.
Standup and Patio flagstone that is 2" or thicker is good with a sand, gravel, decomposed granite or cement a base is easily installed in landscapes by people with basic home improvement skills.
There is always going to be slight variance of square footage from pallet to pallet even if the weights are similar. The square foot coverage per ton of flagstone will vary with each project. Designs of the project, the average stone thickness, size of joints, pattern cuts, waste etc. will effect area coverage.

Tons vs. Yards and Square Feet.
In most cases we charge by the ton and we have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request. Materials sold by the yard tend to have very in-accurate amounts in the trucks. Amounts depend the size of the loader bucket, how well the material was scooped up and who was supervising the loading of the truck. River rock and cobbles are most commonly hauled in Truck n Transfer units and End-dumps to about 25 tons.
Rubble and boulders hauled in bulk are transported in End-dumps and Super-10's. Loads range from 10 to 24 tons per load.
Moss Rock and Specialty Boulders are banded to pallets and shipped via flatbeds to about 24 tons per load.
Supersacks, palleted rock and specimen boulders are hauled on flatbeds in amounts to about 24 tons.
Flagstone and other specialty stone materials are haul on flatbeds in amounts up 24 tons per load.
